Many congratulations to Hazel Hill, Sustainable Energy Officer at Bracknell Forest Council. Hazel was a well-deserved runner-up in the highly regarded South East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards.

The work Hazel does every day makes a real difference to some of the most vulnerable people within her local community. These people are often living close to fuel poverty, and struggling to properly heat their homes.

Hazel works to identify, advise and assist hundreds of residents in her Borough who are in need of help. By using various grants and funding schemes, Hazel can deliver insulation for the homes most in need and improve overall living conditions.

Making a difference

Hazel was responsible for successfully driving the original Green Deal Communities Project across the Bracknell Forest area. The programme went on to become the winner of the ‘Regional Large Scale Project’ award at the South East Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards. Following this, Hazel was nominated by InstaGroup at the 2017 South East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards, where she came an honourable second in the ‘Support For Vulnerable Customers’ category.

InstaGroup is proud to support Hazel, and delighted to see her recognised for her dedication. Hazel now goes forward to the National Awards where, we hope, she will win further accolades in this vital sector of the energy efficiency industry
