Park Home boiler replacement – warming up a smaller home

This installation was for a Park Home on a peaceful site near Shepperton. We needed to replace a 15-year old wall mounted LPG (liquid petroleum gas) combi boiler, which had only a basic timer and room thermostat. The Park Home boiler was running at 78% efficiency, wasting a substantial amount of energy every day.

Installing a new Park Home boiler

A replacement combi boiler was recommended for this size property. A combi works as both a high efficiency water heater and a central heating boiler, all in one single compact unit. And, as a combi boiler heats water directly from the mains as and when it’s needed, there is no need for a hot water storage cylinder or a cold water storage tank.

A combi is an ideal choice for a Park Home boiler. It’s neatly sized, so homeowners can make the most of the all-important living space — a key point when there is no loft or roof space for a heating system. Our GasSafe accredited engineer commissioned an efficient new Worcester Bosch Greenstar I combi boiler 30i (LPG) in August 2017.

This installation included a programmable room thermostat and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) to control the heating more effectively throughout the property. Radiators now turn on and off in rooms as needed, saving the customer energy and money.

The results — now at 90% efficiency

This new Park Home boiler installation made heating and hot water much more cost-effective and energy-efficient. Boiler efficiency rose to 90%.

The installation came with a reassuring 7-year Worcester Bosch boiler guarantee, and InstaGroup’s 2-year workmanship guarantee.

The total cost was just under £2,700 (including VAT). An HHCRO grant funded £1,828 of this installation, with the customer paying the remainder. You can find out more about help to pay for a new boiler installation with HHCRO here
