Installing Cavity Wall insulation through the government’s Green Homes Grant scheme

We’re very pleased to announce that we’ve completed the first installation of home insulation funded through the government’s new Green Home’s Grant scheme. We’re proud to be part of the UK’s plan to warm up homes, cut energy bills and reduce carbon emissions.

We’ve now completed our first installation of insulation through the government’s Green Home’s Grant scheme – we hope there’s many more to come.

Our happy customer lives in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey in a 3-bedroom semi-detached which was built in the 1930s.

They found our services online and contacted us directly to ask about Cavity Wall insulation that could be funded through the new voucher scheme.

InstaGroup’s lead surveyor Colin Millard made an appointment for a no-obligation home energy survey with our customer, which was carried out under government guidelines for Covid-19 safety.

Once the quote and the work for Cavity Wall installation was approved, the customer applied for funding under the Green Homes scheme. The Green Homes Grant voucher was issued, and this was used towards the cost of the home energy efficiency improvement.

Giving Green Homes the green light

In December 2020 the InstaGroup installer team, led by Gary Attree, carried out the installation in Covid-safe conditions. The majority of work involved with Cavity Wall insulation takes place outside the customer’s home, which makes contact with the installer team minimal.

Colin says, “An uninsulated 1930s semi can lose a lot of its heat through the walls – as much as 33%. With the installation of Cavity Wall insulation through the Green Homes scheme it’s estimated our customer could see a reduction in their energy bills by as much as £3951 every year.”

Gary adds, “Installing Cavity Wall in this type of home is fairly quick and straight forward, but it can make such a difference to the householder. Not just by cutting energy bills, but by warming up their home.”

“The government’s new scheme gives thousands of people the chance to improve their homes with vouchers worth £5,000-£10,000, depending on their circumstances.”

From start to finish the Cavity Wall installation took no more than six hours.
