From September, homeowners can apply for up to £5,000 worth of vouchers towards energy efficiency improvements such as insulation. Trust accredited suppliers for a professional installation along with great customer service.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a total of £3bn for improving the energy efficiency of UK homes and businesses. £1bn will go towards public sector buildings, and £2bn will fund the new Green Homes Grant scheme.

It’s likely that insulation, boilers, energy efficient doors and double-glazing will all feature among the home energy efficiency improvements covered by the new government scheme.

£2bn of vouchers for homeowners

More than 600,0001 homeowners are expected to benefit from the new Green Homes Grant. The UK’s lowest income households will be eligible for vouchers worth up to £10,000 to cover energy efficiency improvements, so they won’t have to pay a thing. Full details have yet to be announced, but we’ll update our website when we know more.

For others, the vouchers will be worth up to £5,000 – enough to cover at least two-thirds of the cost of an approved energy-saving home improvement.

How could the voucher scheme work for you?

How to apply for a Green Homes Grant voucher

The scheme is set to launch in September 2020, and you’ll be able to apply online for a voucher.

Your application will need to include the recommended home improvement, plus a quote for the work from an accredited local supplier. Once the quote and the work are approved, the voucher will be issued and used towards the cost of the energy efficiency improvements. We’ll be letting our website visitors know full details of the process as soon as more information is released.

Trust a professional installer

It’s all good news for homeowners, who will save an estimated £300 a year3 on energy bills while keeping warmer at home this winter. The voucher scheme will also have a positive effect on reducing carbon emissions from UK homes.

The Green Homes Grant scheme will only be available through accredited installers, so you are assured of high standards of customer service and a professional installation.
